We have a small group, room for more, and it’s one of the activities people can join if they’re still working. All are welcome! Meetings are scheduled for the following Mondays at 7PM in the Rappahannock Room.

Before we get into topics, Al Roe used to come to our meetings and he was an interesting guy, tremendous professional background and a loving family man. He had a lot to say about good management as he was a great manager and trainer. He died recently and we'll all miss him.
When you go to a gathering like our's, you get to know people differently than when you are there for recreation with limited conversation. Without Table Talk, there are several people we probably would not have met and we look forward to hearing your latest.
There's a minute video about why ruins are underground, why cities are built on top of each other. They mention ancient cities like Troy and modern cities like Seattle. It's not a long video but it includes some ads.
Coursera offers individual interest courses and courses for work certifications. All are online, some are free and some have a small fee. This link is for their Arts and Humanities courses.
If you like museums, most have websites with pages of their collections and special exhibits. Here's a link to the Louvre. The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid is one of my favorites with pieces from the Renaissance to modern art. It's a great way to get an overview of art through the centuries. Last time we met I mentioned two movies: one is the documentary about prisoners making quilts for foster kids and autistic children. “The Quilters” is on Netflix and can probably be streamed elsewhere. “My Cousin Vinny” is the fun courtroom movie and is available on several sites, sometimes pops up on AMC or Paramount. Since we were discussing homelessness, in a post-Table Talk discussion, we were talking about how the closing of institutions contributed to the problem. There was a book then a movie “One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest” about people in a mental institution and how they were treated and it was influential in closing many institutions.

- We learned that there is a service from Mary Washington University that takes you via chartered bus to theaters in other locations. Information is here.
