December 13 Mailing for 12/16 Meeting

 Hi, All.

I hope you’re well.

We all get a lot of email and if you would like to be removed from my personal email list, please just let me know. If you receive mailings via our Celebrate website’s forum, only you can control those mailings.

This post has various types of information and links. You don’t need to be a member to enjoy our resources and information posted on our website at https://table-talk-celebrate.blogspot.com. Some posts include previous topics or suggestions.

2. Our upcoming meeting

1. Meeting Schedule: Save the dates

We have a small group, room for more, and it’s one of the activities people can join if they’re still working. All are welcome! Meetings are scheduled for the following Mondays at 7PM in the Rappahannock Room.

2. Our upcoming meeting

Pam Pospisil attended and updated us on the status of Bingo and the new roundabout.

1. Bingo has a chance of being played for cash prizes in 55+ communities around the state if the Virginia law is tweaked just a tad. The current games are played on a limited basis. If you want to write or call our elected officials, we have a sample letter along with contact information and you can find it by clicking here.

2. In my view, having driven on many roundabouts (AKA "circles"), the new one on Celebrate Parkway is a small challenge but that isn't insurmountable. If you're uncomfortable with it, I can take you on a drive-along and we can use the different entrances and exits. There are some improvements being made and that should help lessen confusion. I found a good video about how to navigate a roundabout at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wIoR7fpPJM.

3. We just had the new Board installed during their first meeting on December 11. We wish them well.

4. The holiday season can be very stressful for people, between shopping for all kinds of gifts and spending time with people who may be difficult. It's also hard when you've lost loved ones through death or estrangement, and you are expected to be cheerful. Although each loss is unique and we sometimes feel we're alone in it, grief is universal. Find ways to be alone and enjoy memories or be with friends and family to create additional memories. Whatever will make you most comfortable.

What is on your mind? Do you have some tips, websites, podcasts or books to share? What’s on your mind?

Please bring a list of any of the following:

  • favorite websites
  • your subscription magazines - how did you choose and what’s important to you about them?
  • names of a few books you’ve recently read
  • summary of recent articles of interest
  • topics on your mind

We’ll use the list to determine topics.

I hope to see you soon.

Cheers,

Marcia
