July 13 mailing for July 15 Meeting

Hi, All.

I hope you’re well.

We all get a lot of email and if you would like to be removed from my personal email list, please just let me know. If you receive mailings via our Celebrate website’s forum, only you can control those mailings.

This post has various types of information and links. You don’t need to be a member to enjoy our resources and information posted on our website at https://table-talk-celebrate.blogspot.com. Some posts include previous topics or suggestions.

TOPICS:

1. Meeting Schedule

2. Recap and Topic suggestions for our upcoming meeting

1. Meeting Schedule: Save the dates

We have a small group, room for more, and it’s one of the activities people can join if they’re still working. All are welcome! Meetings are scheduled for the following Mondays at 7PM in the Rappahannock Room.

July 15
August 5
August 19

2. Recap and Topic suggestions for our upcoming meeting

Well, we talked again about the Board of Directors and our HOA management company. Timely stuff as there were some items that upset me in the recent meeting. We’ve talked a lot about our community governance and if you want to talk about it again, let’s limit the discussion. The fact is, until there is an HOA election or other action, the only thing we’re doing is getting upset.

Podcasts in the following paragraphs are available on Apple Podcasts programs or online. I’m providing the online links.

Because I am dealing with grief, I went back to the series of podcasts called “All There is With Anderson Cooper.” https://www.cnn.com/audio/podcasts/all-there-is-with-anderson-cooper Season 2 is up and helpful for me.

I also find interesting the podcast series called “An Arm and A Leg.” This is about the hidden and not-so-hidden costs of healthcare and how to deal with it. https://armandalegshow.com/episodes/

I’m learning a lot about the Fentanyl epidemic. How did it happen, how is it manufactured and distributed, why is it killing thousands? “The Opioid Tragedy - How We Got Here” can be heard at https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/freakonomics-radio/id354668519?i=1000657607367  Data about opioid deaths is listed in the CDC site at https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/nchs_press_releases/2024/20240515.htm.

“The Hidden Brain” podcasts have given me more understanding of what it is and what to do about it. Their general website is at https://hiddenbrain.org/category/podcast/ and you can find many topics to explore.

What is on your mind? Do you have some tips, websites, podcasts or books to share? What’s on your mind?

Please bring a list of any of the following:

  • favorite websites
  • your subscription magazines - how did you choose and what’s important to you about them?
  • names of a few books you’ve recently read
  • summary of recent articles of interest
  • topics on your mind

We’ll use the list to determine topics.

I hope to see you soon.

Cheers,

Marcia
