We have a small group, room for more, and it’s one of the activities people can join if they’re still working. All are welcome!
Meetings are scheduled for the following Mondays at 7PM in the Rappahannock Room.

Money Sites:
When my sister was widowed, she realized that although she could easily manage her household bills and small business paperwork, she was unsure about managing her investments: her husband had always taken care of that. Although they had an investment counselor, my brother-in-law read about investments, researched options and made most of the recommendations himself. When my sister went to the investment counselor, he did not treat her like someone who needed basic information. He did the equivalent of patting her on the head and telling her he’d manage everything. She did not appreciate this approach, to say the least.
One of the first things I recommended was the magazine and website Kiplinger https://www.kiplinger.com. Kiplinger is an informational site and they have emailed newsletters along with magazines. They explain investments in simple terms so you can learn the basics and expand your knowledge.
I also recommended watching Suze Orman on PBS specials and reading her books as she also has a great way of explaining budgeting and investing. Her website has great information and she has a link to her podcasts, too. http://www.suzeorman.com
MoneyWise has articles about personal finances and provides links to comparison shopping for things like home insurance. https://moneywise.com
Investor https://www.investor.gov/ is a website created by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. They have an introduction to investing, how to protect your investments, tools and calculators and additional resources provided in articles and videos. You can check on investors and brokers for free on the site.
I’d love it if we had an Investment Club here. We wouldn’t bring in personal amounts, just investing tips and ideas.
