It’s been a busy time for us and I completely forgot to sent out this email! I do apologize for that and will still provide you with a few notes.

Last time we talked about a few of our favorite local rides through the countryside.
Scenic Drives:
Al Roe’s favorite drives include Flint Hill Village and Jenkins Orchard north of Culpeper. My husband and I were inspired by theses choices and drove out to Culpeper. We passed a sign along the way for a place called “Graffiti House” and you can read about it at https://www.brandystationfoundation.com/. This site contains a lot of information about local history and sites.
Videos:
I viewed a few videos on the US National Archives YouTube Channel. Definitely worthwhile! https://www.youtube.com/@USNationalArchives
Historical Website:
White House Historical Association’s page has information related to several historical homes. https://www.whitehousehistory.org The Decatur House is on White House Historical Association site, and there are additional links on the bottom of the page.

Non-Profits
Charity Navigator has a lot of information about selecting charities, things to look for, tips and so on. They do not rank charities unless they meet certain criteria, so not all organizations are listed, even though they may be perfectly sound. http://www.charitynavigator.org/
Deb Wilcox mentioned two non-profits and they seem to do a tremendous job. The first is Global Communities at https://globalcommunities.org/. “Global Communities delivers essential solutions to complex challenges from the intersection of humanitarian assistance, sustainable development and financial inclusion.”
The second organization Deb mentioned is Sheldrick Wildlife Trust at https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/. “Best known for our work to protect elephants, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) operates the most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world. But we do much more than this.”
I did not have the time to consume much in the way of books and media to share, but I do have a few to share with you.
