2. Our upcoming meeting
1. Meeting Schedule: Save the dates
We have a small group, room for more, and it’s one of the activities people can join if they’re still working. All are welcome! Meetings are scheduled for the following Mondays at 7PM in the Rappahannock Room.
March 17April 7
April 21
2. The last time and our upcoming meeting
Last time we discussed:
- Table Talk Club election - we decided to rotate leaders for a few sessions
- Five Wishes booklet for your end of life decisions and what you want loved ones to know and do,
- Upcoming movies at the Library of Congress Packard Campus Theater in Culpeper,
- "An Arm and a Leg" podcast about the cost of healthcare, denials by insurance companies and what to do about it. You can listen online at https://armandalegshow.com.
- It was noted that we’re not supposed to delve into politics and religion and we have skirted around some of this including the costs of elections, term limits and such. Generalities we usually agree on and it is good to learn others’ perspectives. We had a couple of comments about what Capitalism is and DEI (diversity equity and inclusion) came up. We determined it was such a political hot potato we decided to pass.
This Monday:
- Dining out, local sights for day trips - bring in some recommendations,
- How do you keep busy? Volunteering? Hobbies/interests?
- What is on your mind? Do you have some tips, websites, podcasts or books to share?
• favorite websites,
• your subscription magazines/papers - how did you choose and what’s important to you about them?
• names of books you’ve recently read, movies or shows you've seen
• summary of recent articles of interest, and
• whatever is on your mind.
I hope to see you soon.
Cheers,
Marcia
