October 19 mailing for 10/21 Meeting

1. Meeting Schedule: Save the dates  


We have a small group, room for more, and it’s one of the activities people can join if they’re still working. All are welcome! Meetings are scheduled for the following Mondays at 7PM in the Rappahannock Room.

2. Our upcoming meeting


In our community, we have an upcoming election for Board Members with some “meet the candidates" meetings. We also have a referendum on paying for gates and those should be hot topics for us. I’m most interested in what experiences and qualities you look for when you go to vote, either in the community or for our government officials.


On the personal front, the investigation into our son’s death is ongoing and the investigator has been good about sharing updates. We’re having a Celebration of Life for Jason to include some family and a few friends. The question is the same as for all eulogies: do you gloss over the rough stuff in favor of making that person flawless or do you acknowledge the complexity of personalities and human relationships? I’m one to do the latter - how about you?


What is on your mind? Do you have some tips, websites, podcasts or books to share? What’s on your mind?

  • your subscription magazines - how did you choose and what’s important to you about them? 
  • names of a few books you’ve recently read
  • summary of recent articles of interest
  • topics on your mind


We’ll use the list to determine topics.
