May 1 mailing for 5/6 Meeting

Hi, All.

I hope you’re well.

We all get a lot of email and if you would like to be removed from my personal email list, please just let me know. If you receive mailings via our Celebrate website’s forum, only you can control those mailings.

This post has various types of information and links. You don’t need to be a member to enjoy our resources and information posted on our website at https://table-talk-celebrate.blogspot.com. Some posts include previous topics or suggestions.

TOPICS:

1. Meeting Schedule

2. Recap and Topic suggestions for our upcoming meeting

1. Meeting Schedule: Save the dates

We have a small group, room for more, and it’s one of the activities people can join if they’re still working. All are welcome! Meetings are scheduled for the following Mondays at 7PM in the Rappahannock Room.

    May 6

    May 20

2. Recap and Topic suggestions for our upcoming meeting

The last time we met we again discussed the Board of Directors, the management company and our HOA in general. Many good ideas have been discussed in our meetings and most have been brought up in BOD meetings or via email. I have heard that the Board is reviewing L&N’s performance and I, a retired HR professional and homeowner here, am interested  in learning the results.

What additional topics caught your eye recently? I saw an article about the top European cities for pickpocketing. I wondered if Barcelona was on the list and there it is at #3: Las Ramblas. We were picked near there and Bill noticed it in time. He was able to get the wallet but the cash was already gone! The article is at https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/2024/05/01/europe-pickpocketing-theft/73519726007/?tbref=hp.

Of course, there are other big stories in politics and in the world, and some of those topics would get pretty heated!

The first 2 introductory meetings of the proposed Investment Club went well! Craig Witt is the President with a background in finance including being an adjunct professor in an MBA program. He is planning how to accommodate people new to investing and those why have advanced questions for discussion. I think it’ll be a great club. The next meetings are Tuesdays: 5/14 at 1:30 and 5/28 at 7 p.m.

You know how we’ve discussed AI (Artificial Intelligence)? Craig used it for two purposes for this group: he created a logo and utilized my article about the group to expand on it and hit additional points. It was fascinating to see practical uses for this technology and I’m looking forward to learning more about this, too.

What’s on your mind? Do you have some tips, websites, podcasts or books to share? What’s on your mind?

Please bring a list of any of the following:

  • favorite websites
  • your subscription magazines - how did you choose and what’s important to you about them?
  • names of a few books you’ve recently read
  • summary of recent articles of interest
  • topics on your mind

We’ll use the list to determine topics.

I hope to see you on Monday, May 6.

Cheers,

Marcia
